Woman like me was released on October 12 2018
The song also won British Artist video of the year at the Brit awards 2019

Product context-
- Little mix states that this song is a tribute to all women living around the world tomato them feel empowered and encourage them.
- They were forced to create this song because they believed that weren't many places to celebrate women.

Representation-
Little mix include various ways of presenting empowerment and undermine stereotypes in their music video. The music video starts off with the female group sitting inside a truck, that seems to be going to prison, wearing leotards because they had received hate in the past for wearing that particular clothing.
Later on, in the video all the women are standing on a giant ruler to emphasise that you cannot measure a females worth or weight.
The massive scales shown represent equality due to the fact that in this society men are seen as more dominant.
Nicki Minaj appears in the video in an art form because shes attempting to prove that she believes shes art since she also previously received a lot of hate.
Throughout the video, Jade especially eats very respectfully and poshly but gradually she starts eating whatever she wants and how ever she wants with no judgement.

Theories-

Bell hooks feminism theory:
There are multiple references int he video which fight against gender stereotypes rather than objectify the women for wearing particular clothing pieces or pleasing  men in a type of way. Through the theory, it could imply the importance of female involvement in the equality movement.

Roland Barthes Semiotics theory:
There are small details that could be analysed and interpreted which create enigma codes. For example, books are placed on their heads to reflect back to history which shows the comparison of the past and present portraying genders. According to Barthes,

Summer Magazine

I chose to make my magazines based around fashion because I'm interested in that genre personally. My aims were to be able to make covers which are appealing and may attract 16-21 year olds interested in the latest and modern fashion ; my audience is specifically females. The magazines are intended for women who are rather young, wealthy and successful and know about the fashion and beauty world. I firstly researched around other inspirational fashion brands which gave me a few ideas for example what kind of images to include and various ways to present fashion. I also found information about sustainable clothing because that is what my double page spread is about. I was able to use photos which portrayed my genre in my covers and nearly filled the whole page and double page spread in addition, I used alliteration with words linking to fashion to attract attention. I made sure my work wasn't showing childish viewpoints but wasn't too simple and boring to read and admire. I have learnt techniques to catch attention and interest from audiences however I think I still need to improve on editing . My magazine is called “la vie en rose” which translates in French to life in pink which shows the feminine aspect.

The headings are in bold to make them stand out and the aesthetic of the colours make each cover pleasing and fits the theme. The colours overall used are quite soft meaning the cover line really stands out with a bold white colour. Subheadings were used to tell the audience what they can expect and will read in the magazine. The barcode is quite small because its an irrelevant piece of education for the audience since it only shows the price. In the fall cover both models are looking directly at the audience with a not too serious look to make them feel like they are directly speaking to them and make the vibe not intimidating. Diversity and culture is shown in the magazine as all models and from different places so they represent variation in ethnicities.  The summer magazine has the model facing backwards to intrigue the audience and make them wonder who the famous influencer is and why she is presented. The interview taken is personal and presents something new and unknown to  the audience, this is important because readers are interested in well known peoples lives and they can get to see personality aspects too.The outfits in the fall cover blend with the colour theme used and lightly screams an autumn atmosphere. On the other hand, the summer cover has scenery that very clearly shows summer and tropical aura. Women are represented more dominantly in my magazine than males because that is my focus and aim. I attempted to use some techniques and ways of making my magazine from the analysations I made prior. I believe that I could also improve on adding more persuasion , something that makes the magazines stand out from others and a better colour theme like red could of been used because it attracts more attention.

No tears left to cry- ariana grande

Ariana Grande has been through a lot emotionally, mentally and physically therefore a lot of her pain is transparent in the music video. Her main target audience is the fans attacked and traumatised during the Manchester bombing at her concert. The music video starts with the camera spinning around which suggests that her thoughts are all over the place. The lyrics of the song show that
she's staying positive and attempting to pick herself up again after the attack. Near the end of the video multiple masks are shown to emphasise the metaphor of her hiding her emotions from society.

This music video has references from Ariana's first music video since she recently claimed that she wasn't herself in 'put your hearts up' and therefore links with 'no tears left to cry'. The first video shows ariana as a different character and felt extremely fake.
